Many of us actively seek to live our best lives, and to be the best we can be. But some of us have no idea where to begin to achieve this, and it usually involves one (or more) of the following: happiness, money, love, freedom, peace.
What we don’t have is the path to get there. We want to find a way to achieve our dreams and desires, but we hold back, we feel stuck. Why is this? Fear. Fear stops us from being the best we can be, or who we want to be. Some of the things we would love to do are met with fear, which can lead us to question ourselves and stop us from taking the action needed to reach our goals. The key here is to push through the fear and take steps towards what you want in life. To begin with it won’t be easy, and in some cases it will take a huge amount of strength and courage, depending on what your fear is. And quite possibly it’ll be the last thing you want to do. But if you don’t push through these fears you’re allowing yourself to stay where you are, stuck.
What you can do is challenge yourself to do one thing every day that scares you. It doesn’t have to be something monumental, just something small that you avoid doing, it’s something that scares you, it makes you feel uncomfortable, but it holds you back. It will take you out of your comfort zone and this in turn will help build up your confidence, helping you become stronger and more courageous. The more you keep doing this the fear that used to hold you back will slowly start to disappear and you may even start to question why you ever allowed it to get a hold of you in the first place. It won’t happen overnight but by confronting your fear it will lead to many benefits in the long run.
